Erica Ditzler, DVM

Emergency Doctor

Dr. Erica Ditzler is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to attending veterinary school, Dr. Ditzler received a bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medical Technology from Wilson College in her home state of Pennsylvania. After receiving her Doctorate, she performed a rotating internship at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital in Akron, Ohio. Shortly after in 2016, she and her husband moved to the Richmond area where she has been working in the Emergency field with a focus on providing high quality and compassionate patient care while encouraging collaboration within the field.

Beyond her love for Emergency and Critical Care medicine, Dr. Ditzler has a passion for serving her community and is a part-time veterinarian at Goochland County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center.  She also serves on the board of directors for Goochland Pet Lovers. With her devotion to aid “both ends of the leash”, Dr. Ditzler helped found the Good Neighbor Outreach Program which hosts monthly clinics that provide basic veterinary care for those at or below the poverty level in our community.

Recreationally, she enjoys exploring the great outdoors through traveling with her husband, riding her horse and hiking with her dogs. In her downtime, Dr. Ditzler enjoys playing the piano and cozying up with her kitties and a good book.
