Glynis McCorkle, DVM
Residency Trained: Emergency and Critical Care
Medical Director
Dr. Glynis McCorkle knew from elementary school that a career in veterinary medicine was the only option for her. From working as a kennel tech in high school to a veterinary technician in general practice, emergency clinics, and large animal ambulatory services, her resolve to help animals and clients in need deepened. After completing her clinical training at Virginia Tech and graduating from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012, Dr. McCorkle pursued a specialty internship in emergency and critical care at Dove Lewis in Portland, OR. Her residency at Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists took her to New England for 3 years of further specialization and training in emergency, critical care, and soft tissue surgery. She moved to Northern Virginia in 2017 and immediately fell in love with the spectacular area.
Dr. McCorkle’s clinical interests include mechanical ventilation, polytrauma, emergency surgical stabilization, pediatrics, and transfusion medicine. She is deeply committed to providing exceptional medical care within the means of the pet’s family. She is dedicated to supporting her hospital team’s ongoing education and preserving their mental health. In her free time she and her husband raise their two children on their hobby farm.
