
Kimmy Basil, DVM
Emergency Veterinarian
Dr. Basil graduated magna cum laude with honors from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University in 2013 with a B.S. in Biotechnology. Prior to veterinary school, she conducted molecular research at the Brookhaven National Laboratory at the National Synchrotron Light Source.
She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2018 and completed her clinical training at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. After four years practicing general medicine in Charlotte, she transitioned into emergency medicine.
Dr. Basil joined Partner Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center in Richmond in 2023.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and two dogs, a Weimaraner mix and an Italian Greyhound.
