Mary Lester, DVM, DACVIM
(SAIM)-Internal Medicine
Practicing as a veterinary internal medicine specialist allows me to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients with chronic and complicated medical issues. It is incredibly rewarding to improve patient quality of life and support families as they grapple with their pets’ health concerns. I also find intellectual satisfaction in investigating complex disease processes to uncover solutions that benefit pets and their families.
Dr. Lester received her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 2015. She pursued a rotating internship and a specialty internship in small animal medicine before completing her small animal internal medicine residency at University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020.
Dr. Lester enjoys all facets of veterinary internal medicine, though she has specific interests in gastroenterology, endocrinology, urology/nephrology and the intersection of internal medicine and nutrition.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Lester enjoys playing tennis with her husband, practicing piano, and cooking. She shares her home with three cats: Merlin, Luna and Indy.
