Paige Copenhaver, DVM
Emergency Veterinarian
Dr. Copenhaver is originally from western Pennsylvania but spent 13 years growing up in Glen Allen, Virginia. She attended Westminster College for her undergraduate studies before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.
Following graduation, Dr. Copenhaver began a small animal rotating internship at PVESC in Richmond. During her internship, she has developed particular interests in neurologic emergencies, including seizures, intervertebral disc disease (IVDD), and vestibular disease. She also enjoys managing trauma cases, especially patients involved in hit-by-car or other acute traumatic events, and values guiding pet owners through what can be an incredibly stressful time while helping their pets recover.
Dr. Copenhaver has a special love for feline medicine and particularly enjoys caring for cats and supporting their owners through emergency and critical care situations.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Copenhaver enjoys spending time with her three cats—Pickles, Luanne, and Leo. She also enjoys baking desserts and sourdough bread, as well as sewing, quilting, painting, and refinishing antique furniture.
