ER Surgery Team Lead Lead ER Veterinarian

Dr. Rachael Boyd is the Lead ER DVM at Partner Veterinary, where she joined the team in 2023 at the Urgent Care location and transitioned to full-time ER upon the hospital’s expansion. A 2015 graduate of the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine (VMRCVM), she has practiced emergency medicine exclusively since graduation, serving communities in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. She oversees ER scheduling, team development, hiring, and cross-department collaboration, working closely with specialty services to streamline referrals and optimize after-hours case management.

Dr. Boyd is passionate about the fast-paced, high-impact nature of emergency medicine and values building trust with clients during some of their most vulnerable moments. She enjoys managing complex cases in collaboration with the hospital’s many specialists and providing high level care and outcomes to patients and their families. Outside the hospital, she is a dedicated mother of two and lives on a hobby farm with cows, chickens, goats, and a horse. She enjoys gardening and growing much of her family’s food and flowers.
