Ryan Gallagher, DVM, DACVIM Neurology

Dr. Gallagher originally hails from San Diego, California. He completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of California, Davis. After completing veterinary school, Dr. Gallagher completed a one-year rotating internship at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by a three year residency in Neurology at North Carolina State University.
Dr. Gallagher has been practicing veterinary specialty medicine for 17 years with a keen interest in the surgical management of intervertebral disc disease, lumbosacral disease, atlantoaxial luxation, fractures, and epilepsy management.

“I think what I enjoy most about working in the veterinary profession is the relationships we create with clients, helping them understand their pet’s needs. By doing so, we aren’t just helping out patients, but also facilitating the human-animal bond between owner and pet, improving the quality of life of both our clients and our patients.”
Dr. Gallagher is married with two teenage children, two dogs (a mixed breed named Nova and a goofy boxer named Archer), a cat named Nora (who tolerates the rest of the family), and a rotating assortment of freshwater aquarium critters. In his “downtime,” he enjoys running, camping, road cycling, and the occasional triathlon.
