Partner Veterinary is seeking a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician for our Oncology service who is excited to leverage their specialized skills to care for patients and families combating cancer. The Oncology RVT for Partner Veterinary is able to practice at the height of their skills. This is achieved through exhibiting knowledge in diagnostic procedures, tumor classifications/terminology, and, most importantly, recognizing the needs of our patients and clients. These needs range from compassionate care and communication for our clients to delivering analgesics and nutritional support to our patients.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years veterinary experience in a specialty environment, experience in Oncology preferred
  • Graduate of accredited veterinary technology program; veterinary technician license “in good standing” so applicant is or eligible to transfer license to Maryland 
  • Knowledge and dedication to high standard anesthesia and patient care practices
  • Strong communication skills to enable respectful and successful lines of communication among team members
  • Adaptability in various learning strategies and keen interest to continuing to develop as a technician and team member

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to quickly process, analyze, and react to unplanned and emergent medical situations without delay, so as to ensure the safety of team members and patients
  • Ability to stand for up to 12 hours with limited breaks
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance
